JACA. San Pedro Cathedral (XI century). Unique example of Romanic checks. It has one of the most important examples of medieval painting.
JACA. La Ciudadela (San Pedro’s Castle) a defensive military construction in a pentagonal shape. Curious tourists will encounter one or two of the deer that live in its dry moat.
San Juan de la Peña Monastery (end of IX century). The highlight is the Romanic cloister, whose roof is the actual rock; it was the mausoleum for the first Aragon kings and the reproduction of the Holy Grail is displayed in the apse of the Iglesia Alta. 22km from Jaca.
Church of the former Benedictine convent of Santa María, established in the middle of the XI century. It is located in Santa Cruz de la Serós, 16.5km from Jaca.
The Cave of las Guixas (the witches). Formed during the quaternary era, this is a magical spot of spectacular chalk formations. It was inhabited from the time of Neolithic man until 300AD and between the XVII and XIX centuries it was a meeting place for witches.
Pirenarium, the park of the Pyrenees in miniature. The main natural areas and monuments of the Aragoneese Pyrenees are represented in the best scale models in Europe. In Sabiñanigo, 10 minutes from Jaca.
The wine trail through the 24 vineyards of the Somontano region (Denomination Origin) offers the visitor a unique landscape of aromas and young wines of international renown.
